Heritage Designation Process

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of The Corporation of the Township of North Glengarry intends to designate by municipal by-law a series of properties:

• Private Property – St-Elmo Presbyterian Church – 1992 County Rd 20, Maxville
• Private Property – St-Elmo Congregational Church – 18191 Kenyon Conc 19, Maxville
• Private Residence – 6 Church St, Maxville
• Private Residence – 101 Centre St, Alexandria
• Private Residence – 53 Dominion St, Alexandria
• Commercial Property – 209-215 Main St N, Alexandria

In accordance with Section 29(3) of the Ontario Heritage Act, Notice of Intent letters were issued to the property owners on September 11, 2024. An ad containing the Notice of Intent to Designate all six properties was published in The Review newspaper on September 11, 2024.  

The last day to file a Notice of Objection was Friday, October 11, 2024.
