Concerts at the Grotto

The Grotto Concert Series was founded in 2016 to support the rehabilitation of the Alexandria Grotto, in Alexandria, Ontario. Free concerts take place every Wednesday evening evening in July and August, starting at 7 pm.

The Grotto, in Alexandria, erected in 1954, depicts the miracle at Fatima. It was erected in 1954 as a tribute to Mary and as a memorial to Glengarry soldiers who lost their lives at war. The monument was neglected for years and it was allowed to fall into serious disrepair. In an effort to raise money for restoration of the monument, a series of concerts was organized to run every Wednesday night during July and August. These performances, by musicians who volunteer their time, run from 7 pm to 8 pm at the Grotto. The concerts are free but good will offerings are accepted at each concert. The funds from these collections have been used to restore much of the monument while a considerable amount of work is still to be done. Concerts at the Grotto have become a tremendous event, for the whole family, each Wednesday night during the summer.

Location: 92 Centre Street, Alexandria, ON
