Part Time Fire Department Positions
The Township of North Glengarry is seeking qualified candidates for the following part-time positions to assist with the implementation of strategic objectives in the North Glengarry Fire Department (NGFD).
Deputy Fire Chief: This temporary (12 to 24 month) part time position will support the efforts of the Fire Chief in implementing various new programs needed to harmonize operations within the 3 NG fire stations and achieve various other operational and capital objectives.
The ideal candidate would be bilingual and have the relevant Ontario Fire College certification or equivalent and a proven ability to perform in a dynamic work environment with tact and diplomacy.
Salary: $18,000 to $22,000 / year honorarium (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
Senior Fire Prevention Officer: This permanent part time position will oversee fire prevention and education programs for the Township while reporting to the Fire Chief. The role includes chairing the Fire Prevention Committee, providing inspection training for committee members, arranging all public education and outreach programming and acting as primary inspector for the NGFD.
Salary: $10,000 to $15,000 / year honorarium (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
Administrative Clerk: This permanent part-time position (20 hours / week) will provide administrative support to the Fire Chief and oversee all administrative matters for the NGFD including documenting all incident, training and inspection reports, burning permits and scheduling calendars, processing invoicing and financial records.
Salary: $14.80 to $17.40 / hour (2016 rates - commensurate with experience and qualifications)
